Psalm 127

Psalm 127:1-5

127
Chapter 127
A song of ascents. For Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the temple, its builders labor on it in vain. Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman keeps watch in vain. 1 Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor on it in vain. Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. You who rise early and stay up late, eating the bread of sorrows—for he gives sleep to his beloved. 2 Behold, sons are an inheritance of the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward. 3 Behold, sons are an inheritance from the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a mighty man are sons born in one's youth. 4 Blessed is the man who has filled his quiver with them. They will not be ashamed when they speak with enemies in the gate.
